  • SIL is an NDIS funding category that pays for support workers to assist participants with daily tasks in their home. It is designed for people who need regular, ongoing support to live as independently as possible.

  • SIL is funded under the Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life budget. It is one of the highest-cost NDIS supports and requires a detailed assessment and quote process before it is approved in your plan.

  • Yes. As an NDIS participant, you have the right to choose your SIL provider. KAAMI works with you, your support coordinator, and the NDIA to develop a support model that meets your needs and fits within your plan funding.

  • SIL (Supported Independent Living) funds the support workers who assist you at home. SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) funds the physical home itself for participants with extreme functional impairment. Some participants are funded for both; others only for SIL.

  • Yes. Depending on your assessed needs and NDIS plan, KAAMI can provide overnight active support, sleepover support, or 24-hour support. Our team will work with you to design the right support model.
